About Us

HISTORY

In 1979, a 25-year old Rippan Kapur made a simple decision to change the lives of India’s underprivileged children. With Rs.50 as their resource, Rippan and his six friends were driven by the extraordinary dream to see a day when no Indian child would be deprived of rights as basic as survival, participation, protection and development. And this was how CRY began.

The founders opted to make CRY a link between the millions of individuals who can provide resources and the thousands of fieldworkers who were struggling to function for lack of them.

Although Rippan passed away in 1994, at a young age of 40, his vision for underprivileged children ensures that CRY continues to grow.
